David's charity ride for organ donation Starting in February 2011, David Gough will be riding his Touratech-equipped BMW GSA from the National Art Gallery in Canberra around the perimeter of NSW and finishing in Canberra during DonateLife week.David's '2011 Organ Donation Awareness Ride' around NSW is in honour of his daughter, Melody, who died as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Boorowa, NSW, as she was returning home to Cowra on Christmas eve 2009. Her wish to be an organ donor resulted in saving three lives. According to David, the ride is not only a memorial to Melody, but serves as a reminder to us all that one day we too may need the life giving gift of organ donation. David's ride will take the following route: Canberra, Bateman's Bay, Wollongong, Gosford, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Bellingen, Grafton, Tweed Heads, Tenterfield, Goondiwindi, Collarenebri, Bourke, Cobar, Broken Hill, Mildura, Swan Hill, Shepparton, Albury, Wagga, Tom Groggin, Narrabarba, Bega, Moruya, Canberra (5060km). In all he will be riding for 22 days. We applaud David's commitment to the cause, and encourage you to visit his website at: http://www.odar.com.au/ |
