Engine Guard with Storage F650GS

Here our engineers have turned their experience from the last Paris-Dakar rallies into reality. Made from 4mm welded aluminium plate. A new steel engine underbar subframe is included. The kit increases the ground clearance of the F650GS while increasing protection, and adding cargo capacity carried low.

The Rally engine guard protects the motor against flying stones and damage. A storage compartment for oil, water or tools is provided, and it opens with 1/4 turn D'zus fasteners. This kit is a substantial change to the undercarriage of the F650GS. Ground clearance is increased 2 cm, and the sidestand bracket is positioned higher too, which further increases lean angle when parked. Original sidestand is used. (Do NOT compensate for lean angle by increasing sidestand length!)

Storage box size is approximately 33 cm wide, 19cm high 16cm deep but triangular.

Weighs 5.5 lbs more than the original skidplate+underbars.

Notes:
1) On some bikes the sidestand cutoff switch will be too close the exhaust header. In this case it must be moved (and disabled). Remove the switch from the stand, "set" it in the "sidestand UP" position, and secure to an inside frame rail above the plate. See "MORE Photos" link at right ---->.
2) 040-1248 must be trimmed slightly to fit along with 051-0523 Engine crashbars.
